When video is included as part of a landing page, the chances of positive conversion from visitor to prospect and from prospect to paying customer increases by more than 50 percent. This is particularly the case when videos feature detailed description of products.

Perhaps the most interesting statistic related to video comes from YouTube, which happens to be one of the most valuable online properties held by Google: the video sharing giant reports that its traffic is growing by 100 percent each year.

Digital marketing agencies are convinced that content will still be king in 2017. According to digital content agency CopyPress, 84 percent of its clients expect that they will require fresh and relevant content in 2017-2018.

While the need for content persists, not many online brands or businesses approach this need strategically. Industry leader CMI conducted an early 2017 survey among companies that rely on internet channels for marketing; the survey results indicate that only 40 percent of brands have an editorial calendar or a detailed plan for content creation.
